Is it really free?
Yes: the free plan covers 1 site, with no credit card: full banner, automatic blocking and Consent Mode v2. Custom colors, removing “Powered by OpenCookies”, the 13-month consent log, alerts and white-label are in the Pro plan (€6 per site per month) or Agency (€31 per month for 25 sites). See the pricing
Is blocking 100% reliable?
It is very reliable for everything added by code (Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, TikTok, videos, pixels…). A script written directly in the HTML may be downloaded by the browser before the banner, but it is never executed before consent. To prevent even the download, the installation assistant shows you the exact change (or the WordPress plugin does it for you). The monthly test checks the result.
What do you see of my visitors?
No identity and no IP address. Each choice is tied to a random identifier created in the visitor’s browser, solely to be able to prove what was chosen.
Does OpenCookies make me “compliant”?
We don’t promise that: compliance depends on your whole site. OpenCookies tells you what is observed or not observed, with evidence. It is not legal advice.
What if the OpenCookies script doesn’t load?
Your page keeps working, but trackers are then no longer blocked by the banner. This is a limit of any banner installed by script; the monthly test and alerts are there to spot it.
